Well, we made it safely and soundly. At approximately 8:30 CST we pulled into the Best Western parking lot here in Nashville, Tennessee.
Fairly uneventful trip. Crossed the border with no issues whatever and picked up our new driver, Jim, who came on board with his own portable GPS system....she even speaks!!! eg "go seven and one quarter miles and keep right."
If anyone on the bus got more than three hours sleep he/she should receive an award. We celebrated Jessica Boote's 18th birthday with an awful rendition of "Happy Birthday"; watched Tallidega Nights and while the adults struggled to get some shuteye the younguns just talked--some semblence of silence crept in around two am!
Our visit to the Country Music hall of Fame managed to keep most students' attention for perhaps thirty seconds---Brooke Sawyer being the exception. It must be noted though that prior to our visit to the Hall we had a true adventure in trying to find a 'breakfast' establihment in Nashville. According to a local police constable, on a truly beautiful motorcyle, "You can't get breakfast in Nashville"!!!
Our visit to Titan Stadium, I believe, is something everyone will remember---from the dressing room, to the field, onto the luxury boxes and finally the top row of the stadium (seats 68,000).
Our host will very gracious and friendly and wished us well!!!
Our fellow travellers arrived just before supper time, so with a reservation for 70 in hand we headed off the Market Street Brewery and Public House Restaurant.
All adults are hoping for some quiet time tonight and an opportunity to catch up on some much needed sleep before we hit the road on Saturday at about 9 am.

- Coach Hughes has been an educator and coach since 1972. He taught Physical Education and History at De La Salle College "Oaklands" in Toronto from '72 to '84 after which he moved on to become Vice Principal at Cardinal Newman Catholic High School in Scarborough. He administered in secondary schools in Toronto and Durham Region until his retirement in 2002 from Notre Dame in Ajax. He has been exclusively a football coach moving from teams at De La Salle to the Pickering Dolphins, then to the Chargers at Archbishop Denis O'Connor CHS. He has been a member of the Cougars' coaching staff since the team's inception in '02. In fact there is a rumour that the coach retired from his Principal's chair because he knew he as long as he was in that capacity he would not have the time to be on the field with the players on a day to day basis. When asked how much longer he'll coach, he quotes Gordie Howe when he says: "I'll keep doing it as long as I'm having fun", but then also adds "And as long as the current Principal lets me come back"!

We are having an uneventful winter day in Canada. It was sunny and minus 1. We received the update and wish you a quieter bus ride on Saturday. Enjoy the journey!

:) Hope you are all settled in and have had a GOOD nights rest. Remember your goals and keep each other safe. We miss you all, but most of all we are proud of what you have set out to do. Make yourselves proud and enjoy ever minute of your journey. Be kind to the adults, they really do need sleep.
We look forward to the stories and pictures. Stay safe and take care of each other.

Did you try out the Alligator Ranch? We are having a blistery plus 5 in Ontario. We know that it is much hotter in New Orleans. Half the gang is probably wearing shorts. Well off to work tomorrow. Have fun and we'll talk to you soon.
